This privacy policy explains how Carreau: Score Pétanque (the "App") handles your data.

Data the App Collects

This app uses the following iOS capabilities:

• Camera — Camera access is used only when you choose to measure, and only to photograph the boules. Unlike most apps of ours, that photograph does not stay on your device — see “Photographs and measurement” below.

Photographs and measurement

Measuring works by photographing the boules, and that photograph leaves your device. This is the only content the app ever transmits.

• The photograph is sent over HTTPS to our first-party proxy at ai.scalingwebapps.com, which forwards it to a vision model. The model returns the positions of the boules and of the jack; the app computes the distance and its margin of error from those coordinates on your device.
• The photograph is used only to answer that one request. It is not saved by the app, is not attached to your match history, and is not retained by the proxy or the model provider once the request completes. It is not used to train models.
• The model provider's API key is never in the app. The proxy holds it server-side; the app authenticates to the proxy with a per-app key only.
• If you are offline when you measure, the photograph is held in memory only until the connection returns, and is discarded if you leave the measurement. It is never written to disk.
• Photographs are never linked to your identity and are never shared with anyone else.

Everything else the app does — keeping score, entering ends, history, display mode — works entirely offline and transmits nothing.

Match data and iCloud

Scores, team names and end-by-end history are stored on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud they also sync through your own private iCloud database, so a match follows you between your devices. There are no accounts, and no server of ours is involved: ScalingWebApps cannot read your matches. Deleting the app removes the local copy; removing the app's iCloud data in iOS Settings removes the synced copy.

Anonymous usage analytics

To understand which features matter and to keep the app reliable, the app records anonymous usage events — for example, that a measurement was taken, or that display mode was opened — through Aptabase, a privacy-first analytics service. Events are flags and counts only. They never include team names, scores, measurements, photographs, or any identifier that could point back to you, and they are never used to track you across apps or websites.

These events are sent to Aptabase's United States endpoint. Aptabase does not use cookies and does not build advertising profiles.

Subscriptions and Purchases

Subscription and in-app purchase processing is handled by Apple via the App Store and by RevenueCat, our subscription analytics provider. We receive anonymized purchase and subscription status information necessary to deliver the features you've paid for and to provide customer support. We do not see your full Apple ID or payment card details.

Data the App Does NOT Collect

• We do not collect personally identifying information beyond what Apple provides as part of receipt validation.
• We do not use third-party advertising networks.

• We do not track your activity across other apps or websites.

Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.

Your Rights

You may delete the app at any time to stop all data collection. To request deletion of any data associated with your purchases, contact us at the support address below.
